GUSTAV LINDNER OHG Kaufbeuren: Emerald cabochons
These are little oval cabochons made by Gustav Lindner of Kaufbeuren in Western Germany. I have about 140gms of them, which may not sound like much if you're into bread-making (I am), but I reckon must be a huge amount if you're into beading or jewellery (I'm not) so I'm dividing them into 3 lots of just over 40gms each lot. Warning: if you tried making bread with these it would be horribly crunchy!

These cabs are backed with a kind of bronzy coloured material that I suppose is there to increase the sparkle viewed from the front.

I'd intended running this as a dutch auction for multiple items, but I've just discovered I need more than 20 feedback ratings for eBay to let me do that (unless I accept Direct Debits, which are against my religion, the Church of Unbelievers in Banking Competence). So I'm sorry, you'll just have to track my other auctions and bid on whichever is cheapest.

First class postage is

  • 45p for 1 lot,
  • 75p for 2,
  • 1.00 for all 3 lots.
Or I can send 2nd class if you prefer, with suitable reduction.

Happy bidding!

"Are they real emerald?", I hear someone ask. No, I'm 99.999% sure they're not. These are just one item of a huge collection of bankrupt stock, bought about 4 years ago, mostly Swarovski, with a few exceptions like this one. I'd never heard of Gustav Lindner, so of course I tried Google and found their web site. It looks like they're a glass and crystal manufacturer, perhaps a competitor of Swarovski.

However, I didn't find any information about this kind of product. And since I've no idea of the original date of manufacture (except that it must be more than 4 years ago) perhaps they long ago stopped making them. Anyhow, in case you're better with web sites and search engines than I am, the article number is 751108.

If you do find more info, I'd love to hear from you. As indeed I would if you have ideas on what to do with small cabs like these.
